Followed the direction on the package for crockpot direction. Used the high directions, after 4 hours and still peas were still hard and slot of liquid still in pot. Switched to low directions for 4 hours and peas were soft and liquid was absorbed by then, wife added some flour to thickened the liquid that was left. Soup is delicious, no question, but not sure what we did wrong.
I followed the slow cooker directions for the split pea soup and was very, very happy with the result. Made a perfect "supper" for a chilly New England evening, and since the recipe does yield many servings, the freezer now has an ample supply to thaw and heat when the Jack Frost reappears!
