I went to the The Old Mill many times about 18 years, and every time I was there I had their Corn Chowder Soup. I was fantastic!!! I remember the little recipe cards they used to have on a stand so that you can take one home. Well, that was what I remember about their soup. All of there food was very good, loved going there. And that is what I expected when I ordered their Corn Chowder Soup. Well, I made the first package as soon as I got it out of 4 packets. After following the directions I couldn't wait to have some. When I tasted the soup, I immediately noticed that it didn't taste at all like I remember. It was more like eating corn meal with a floury taste. I tried it several more bites and still the same taste. I can also taste some corn as well, but this was nothing like I remember. So I threw out the rest of the soup! What a shamful waste! And I had three more packets. So I called The Old MIll number and complained about this product. There customer service people were very kind and understanding and made the experience right! I will still go back to the restaurant next time I'm in the area.
The chowder did not have as much corn as potatoes and didn’t seem to be the same recipe as we remembered
We actually added corn to the soup
Love it!!
Love everything from the old mill.
We always loved the corn chowder, so we would always go the the General Store and purchase a couple of bags to fix at home. We were in the area 2 weeks ago and ate at the Old Mill Restaurant. After dinner I went and bought 3 bags, which were smaller than previous purchases. So today, I decided to fix a bag of the corn chowder. It was brown, not a creamy white color at all, it didn't taste anything like it used to and there wasn't enough corn in it to even call it corn chowder, not even sure if there was corn in it. It also had the taste of sour cream and chives. It was not good, and after we each ate a small bowl, I threw the rest out. What happened to the good corn chowder you used to have? We won't be purchasing it again! Just look at the picture on the package, and realize, it does not look like that at all.
