The Old Mill has been grinding corn using millstones and water power since 1830. We grind the entire kernel, and our unbolted (unsifted) approach means we don't sift out the bigger bits as most industrial mills do. The result is a coarser yet incredibly flavorful meal.

Our Self-Rising Yellow Cornmeal is a complete mix that includes leavening and salt; simply add eggs, melted shortening, and buttermilk per the included recipe for a quick, delicious cornbread!

Tastes Great and Easy to Use

I’ve used Old Mill self-rising corn meal for years now. I come from a multi-generational southern family and we love our cornbread. This corn meal, mixed with an egg and some buttermilk poured into a sizzling hot cast iron skillet makes it delicious. I make sure I never run out of it.
