Stone Ground White Grits

Stone Ground White Grits

$5.99

When you want to cook Southern style, you’ve got to get your grits on. If you’ve enjoyed the grits at our award-winning Old Mill Restaurant, you know what we mean!

The secret to our grits' wonderful flavor and texture is stone grinding, and ours is still ground with water-power, the way it's been done since 1830.

Native Americans and early settlers used this method, and the Old Mill is proud to bring this delicious tradition home to you.

Available in 2lb and 5lb bags.

We apologize but our 25-pound bags are currently unavailable online.

So deliciously full flavored and "comfort-food creamy!"

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? (I'm 77.) There's nothing I've found with the full, sweetish taste and creamy (yet with texture too) "comfort-food" qualities of this cereal grain... plus, it makes that great basic staple: Simple Southern Cornbread (only cornmeal, salt, soda and buttermilk... with egg & butter optional).
Field ripening/drying to develop sweet, full flavor; milling the old stone-ground way (even using a water wheel for power) makes the difference!
I'M SO GLAD WE FOUND YOU,,, and your fascinating history too. Thanks for carrying on the valuable traditions. You've shown us the REAL USA! =)
